BMP-7 to reverse the renal failure?

Is there a way to obtain BMP-7 Drug to reverse the kidney failure. news is OrthoBiotech has ended license agreement with Curis.

I read that BMP-7 Drugs can be used to avoid dialysis and improve the life of the patients suffering from kidney problem. I have also read that some care-givers requested for the medicines and were given a cold shoulder. why would any person be not allowed to try a medicine which can improve his/her health.

I read that OrthoBiotech has terminated the license agreement with Curis for further research. Is the license termination because of conflict of interest? since OrthoBiotech also produces drug to increase the anemia level in the patients (its damn costly). Is government going to take any action? is there a way to spread the word?

Hopefully Curis would find some other company to do its research and get the drug out fast to improve the quality of life for thousands of people.

i hope this is true because i was on dialysis for 3 years and it was terrible.

There is no drug that will reverse renal failure. Renal failure means that the kidney tissue cells are damaged and are non-functional. Drugs wld aggravate the condition further, believe me. So how do U approach treating kidney failure?

First, determine what caused it? Oftentimes its chronic unintentional dehydration. What does this mean? The basic unit of any tissue or organ in the human body is the cell. The cell is comprised of 70-80% water. When it dries up the vital metabolic processes that keeps it alive are lost. When lost, damage and consequently death occurs. This is when it becomes non-functional. It is likened to a well hydrated grape that ends up like an ugly raisin.

Why dehydration? People today do not take the right kind of fluids to keep the cells optimally healthy. Due to better taste, they prefer beverages like coffee, tea, sodas, alcohol. Unknown to many, these beverages are dehydrating. So the daily lack of water eventually causes the cells to dry up. Aside from these substances, we lose water thru our urine, stools, sweat and respiration. The body actually recycles 40,000 glasses of water a day and it loses abt 8-10 glasses thru sweat, urine, stools and respiration. If not replaced, dehydrated state will definitely set in. The kidneys being one of the vital organs to conserve water won't be able to take enough water when the shortage sets in. So as effect of it, it gets affected and deteriorates. Here comes renal or kidney failure.

So to correct it, one must try resuscitating it by correcting the prime problem, the dehydration and not by the use of drugs. However if the damage is so severe, transplant is the only solution.

How to hydrate the body properly? Dissolve abt 1/4 tsp of sea salt to 1 quart of water. Slt holds water and so helps hydrate the cells better. Take the water as follows: Depending on the size of the patient and the damage of both kidneys: The total number of ounces that he will be needing will be half of his weight in lbs. If he is 100 lbs, he will be needing 50 ounces of water a day. Distribute the water throughout the day. Give 1/4 the total volume upon waking up in the morning and another 1/4 at bedtime. Give 1/8 the volume half hr before meals and 2 and a half hrs after meals. The remaining 1/4 will be his need when he feels thirsty like while eating his meal. Start the regimen gradually since his kidneys are not functioning well. If he develops swelling, stop the salt for 2-3 days and then resume when swelling subsides. Check on his bld pressure too.

Add magnesium to his diet. Start on abt 250 mg a day initially then add 50 mg a day after every 2 weeks if his urine output gets better or if he wld feel better until a total of 350-400 mg a day is reached. magnesium activates abt 350 enzymes of the body and helps revive diseased tissues of the body.

Hope this will help!
