Can one live normally with just one kidney?

I just recently learned my left renal artery is blocked or is about 80% blocked/stenosed. It cannot be stented and now I have erratic blood pressure readings. Will the 2nd kidney, which is not impacted, be able to function normally and prevent the need for dialysis? Has anyone dealt with this situation before or know anyone who has?

Yes....kidneys can also be donated from a live donor. The donor can live normally on one kidney.

yes

yes, my grandmother only has 1 kidney and she's doing fine

Yes you can live a normal life with one kidney, and not have to go on dialysis

the body is capable of normallity with just one kidney
you might have to alter diet and liquid intake but should be fine with just one kidney without need for dialysis

my ex was born with only one kidney. still alive and well with no problems because of it. he is 6'6 and 300 lbs. so i guess one kidney works for him!!!
