Stem cell vaccine on renal cancer as a cure together w/ nexavar tablet. We welcome comments on this procedure.

patient has been suffering on nexavar pill (side effects = bloating, lots of water in the feet causing patient to have swollen feet and inability to walk) and 5fu injection. Recommendation to treat with experimental stem cell vaccine is being undergone. Please advice on its effectivity and dangers and as a cure. Also, the patient has recurring lung problems including a cough every month - causing many sleepless nites and tiresome spitting out of phlegm

In my opinion, the patient needs to decide if the possible cure is worth the possible side effects.
We do not know enough about stem cell therapy yet as too long term effects but with renal cancer, better to try something then lay down and give up.
Personally if it was me and I was offered the chance, I would take it. Sounds like the patient needs a PT Scan to see if the cancer has spread to the lungs.
