Bladder cancer? |
My husband has already had renal cell carcinoma and thyroid cancer . They removed his thyroid and 1 kidney 4 years ago . He now has atypical urotheliol cells in his urine. Are these possiblely all related? Bladder cancer is usually transitional cell carcinoma. Symptoms include hematuria; later, urinary obstruction can cause pain. Diagnosis is by urinary imaging or cystoscopy and biopsy. Treatment is with surgery, fulguration, intravesical instillations, or chemotherapy. they are not related. Your husband has been through a lot. Thyroid cancer is sometimes associated with other cancers, but they are usually different ones than the ones your husband has. One thought is that maybe he was exposed to something carcinogenic (radiation or chemicals) many years ago, and now it is showing up as different cancers. I hope he gets better soon. |
