Actually, it looks like the pathology report does mention Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC), which means there WAS a tumor that appears to be renal cancer. The other areas are "free of tumor" basically means that the entire kidney and the surrounding tissues that were removed did not have any cancer, and that there was no visible cancer left behind. You didn't mention how big the tumor actually was, so, depending on the size, you could have a stage I or II RCC. Still, the outcome is generally pretty good. You should still have follow-up with a medical oncologist to make sure you have all the proper tests. And you will still need to have routine follow-up, because RCC is one of those cancers that could have a chance of coming back, although the chance likely is low in your case.

Please look up the word carcinoma , that my help answer you question, then call your doctor

You had a carcinoma of the right kidney. It looks like they didn't find but a single tumor which was removed since the other areas of the removed kidney did not show cancer or anything abnormal. If this info is correct, then you have good chances of being cured. Check with your Dr since he should have already explained all this to you.
