My son has developed a lazy eye, he watches TV out the corner of his eyes , any suggestions? |
His has started squinting with both eyes at bright light and when he opens them again his left eye has turned out and down while his right eye seems ok. It straightens up again after he blinks a couple of times. He has seen eye specialists before as he also has Down syndrome and they say he has 'refractive errors including astigmatism' but they felt glasses were not needed. Now I'm not so sure, any advice? This has only started happening in the last couple of months and we don't get any 'eye Drs' to our hospital untill there are enough patients to warrant a visit from one. Maybe every 6mths or so, which is when we last went, and were told his eyes were ok. I haven't the means financially to travel over the hill to CHCH to see a specialist so have to wait till they come here. I don't think the comment made for me to get off my lazy but was warranted. I have 5 children and thankfully only one with medical problems so I don't have time to be lazy. TAKE HIM TO AN EYE DOCTOR. maybe take him to the eye doctor. you should bring him to the doctor nd ave him stop watchng tv so close I have heard of people using an eye patch over the strong eye to train the lazy eye. Perhaps you could try this at home. get another opinion soem doctors just can not diagnose something right. an eye doctor is what you really. need. i had a lazy eye before. lazy eye is caused by one muscle being stronger than another. for me they operated on my eye muslces by moving one to make it as weak as the other. it went fine! my six year old and my was 4 year old now 7 had a lazy eye and both of them grow out of it they both wear glasses now and everything is fine.. hope things turn out right for you and your son In order to fix a lazy eye the doctor will cover the strong eye with a patch and by making your son use the lazy eye it regains its strength. My cousin had this for a while when he was younger, its not that big of a deal he should be fine after that. yes get off of your lazy butt and get your son to an eye doctor lady. |
