My boyfriend keeps getting a really bad pain behind his right eye, he says it sometimes feels like its inside his eye and it moves to his ear and neck occasionally. He gets it most in the morning and at night but is getting it more frequently thoughout the day.
We dont think it's sinusitis, he has a +5 prescription but wears glasses/contact lenses which are up to date and from the pain he describes i doubt it could be a refractive error.
what could this be and how can we help it? He's currently taking pain releivers. Please dont say visit the optician or the dr.
thanks. Well, I know you asked for us to please not say "visit a doctor", BUT that is exactly what I suggest based on what you asked. I had pain/pressure behind both eyes for years and never did go to the doctor because I didn't feel like it was anything serious. However, I did end up having a MRI and was diagnosed with Arnold Chiari Malformation. The lead symptom in this condition is pain behind the eyes or headaches in the eyes. Of course, I'm not saying this is what your boyfriend has, but if he is experiencing these type of headaches often and using lots of pain relievers than it is clearly a problem and should be investigated. Lots of underlying medical conditions can cause headaches as well as normal things such as stress, muscles, colds etc. Its almost impossible to try and figure it out on your own. He probably needs some medical tests ran. Good luck! |
