Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) AKA CRPS?

Anyone know if RSD (CRPS), can cause ankle/foot swelling (in only one leg? It's around the instep Talus bone (anterior talocalacaneal articulation), does NOT go above the ankle.

RSD dx. in 1995, in both legs, but this it the first time swelling has ever occured (since injury). No pain in the swelling area, but swelling is noticible compared to other foot (no swelling).

I don't see my doctor for 2 more months, and I don't think a phonecall is needed.

Ideas here?

I have had RSD in my lower right leg for 5 years now. It has always been swollen . I have heard that it is a pretty common symptom. I wouldn't worry too much about it if you haven't re-injured your foot and the pain hasn't changed. It may be a result of the heat. Mine gets worse in the summer. I wish you the best of luck. I hope you have found treatments that work well for you.

For almost six years I have had RSD which affects my left foot and leg. Parts of my foot, ankle, and leg swell at random times and places. Keeping active even when you feel like crying from pain, in the end always helps. Swelling is a classic symptom...TG Report It
