RSD Stories?

I have a project in one of my classes to create a movement...and so my movement is going to be to raise awareness, and provide support for people with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. We must say how we are going to educate people, who it will help, and how we will fund it. We have to make a presentation and make a pamphlet. Being someone with RSD...I know that we need people to realize what we go through...so that we can get the help and support we need. Anyways I was thinking that I would make part of my pamphlet include personal stories...you know to help open people's eyes that it is everyday people who are dealing with this. I plan on sharing my story, which is a big step for me because I often avoid telling my classmates. But I was hoping to have a few other real personal stories. If any one on here is willing to share a condensed version of their story...it would be greatly appreciated. You can choose to remain anonymous...or you can give me your name and age.

Also if you are really comfortable with this...you could send me a pic to my email that would be included in the pamphlet. We are just highschool kids...and your location and everything wouldn't be known...so I don't think that this should be invasive to anyone.

I would be willing to share my story...I had knee surgery at the age of 13, and ended up with RSD. I have my RSD from my knee to my toes in my right leg. I have now had this condition for 2 years. I have had numerous different types of treatment, such as lumbar sympathetic blocks, spinal cord stimulation, physical theraphy, TENS units, and I'm now hoping to go back to Arkansas for an expirmental treatment of an IV infusion with Ketamine. Would you like any other information? Please e-mail me if you would like any further information or anything else. Good luck with your project!
