OxyContin VS Dilaudid for Pain?

Myself having Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (CRPS), and I have a doctor appointment in 2 months, my pain is starting to act up and my doctor said the last time "we'll put you on something else if you like, think about it." I have a strong medical background and she goes along with what I suggest usually.

Currently I take Oxycontin 80 mg six times a day (2 AM, 2 afternoon and 2 evening) along with OxyFast 20mg/ml 1cc max six times a day as needed.

I've been reading about Dilaudid or Paladrone (extended release). Has anyone tried this for pain or RSD? I think it's a step up?

I would probably suggest the Dilaudid. Dilaudid will provide an increased level of pain relief beyond that of the Oxycontin.

This is, however, only if you remain on the OxyFast to supplement. Oxycontin w/ OxyFast supplementation would be preferrable to simply Dilaudid on it's own. As long as you are givin a drug to supplement the Dilaudid with, it's probably a good choice to try out.

Hydromorphone doesnt have a lasting effect. There are options such as oxymorphone(opana) and/or fentinyl(transdermal). Both are very strong opiates that have a lasting effect. Report It

I prefer the liquid Hydromorphone/dilaudid

Dilaudid is nice.
Works fast.
Have you tried hydrocodine? Nice stuff too..tastes yucky though blah.
