My doc wants to put her hand in my anus what do i do?

She said it's a standard thingy to test for rectal disease but I don't want some woman sticking her hand up my rectum.

She probably wanted to put her "finger" in your anus.. No doctor is going to put their whole hand up there no matter what they are testing.

I wouldnt do it unless you purposely went to her for her to check for that.

hmmm... I would rather take my chances... I tend to be gassy..

If she has to do it, she has to do it. You wouldn't want rectal disease, would you? This way you can find out if you have it or not. Relax. It'll probably take 2 seconds.

just remember she does it all the time, ment as a joke, but it works cuz its true.
:-)

well it is standard, and its for your own good, so i suggest you buck up:)

well, u just gotta deal wit it. my frend did it sep sum MAN did it!

If you don't have a background of rectum cancer than I would not be worried about getting it checked. And if you are younger many people do not worry about rectum cancer unless they are usually older in age. So If you dont have a background or are younger I wouldn't worry about getting checked as of right now.

I doubt it would be her entire hand.

i had that done once when i had tummy pains, its only to check, dont worry.

You have the right to refuse.
She also has the right to discharge you as a patient.
She's just trying to do her job. A rectal exam is a routine part of a gyn or full physical exam.

A rectal exam is a finger, not a hand. It checks for occult (hidden) blood, which is an early sign of colon cancer.

If you get polyps that turn into cancer, you'll get much, much more than a finger up your back side. You might even get to wear a colostomy bag! Or be dead.

Let the poor woman do her job. Trust me, she's not getting any thrills out of it.

Ensure she has good reason to do it, and if she does then you should live with it. I'm no doctor, but I'm reliably informed that they can really tell a lot from inserting a digit.

The first time is always the worst.

Trust me, you'll never see embarassment in quite the same way.
I don't mean to be flippant, I'm just being truthful.

It won't be fun but she is a doctor and think about what if she didn't do the test and you find out later that you do have some sort of anal disease. Think about it. Your doctor wouldn't run tests just to run them.

That's normal, and I'm sure she didn't mean her entire hand, only a finger. Just grin and bare it, it's for your own health.

just had it done they dont use thier hand fingers only

It is just part of having a pap done. All doctors do it so relax. It only takes a second and it is just a finger.

relax and enjoy babe!!!

It is not a big problem let her do it for your health

You could ask her if there is another way for her to get her information. Perhaps she would be happy if you gave her some faecal samples instead?

If she is looking for a specific rectal disease (and there are some you need to do rectal examination for) then rectal examination is often the best way to screen. Be aware that if more information is needed then the next step in investigation may be even more invasive - eg. sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy where telescopes are used to look inside the anus and rectum and then further up into the colon.

You do not HAVE to do any of this. You must understand that if you refuse to do this, then your doctor will not have the information that she needs and you may have a disease that goes undiagnosed. However, you still have to right to refuse any test or treatment.

Would you be more comfortable if it was a male doctor? You could request a different doctor.

I must say, most women would be MORE uncomfortable if they had a male doctor examining their anus and rectum.

let her then call her a lez
