What is the difference b/w Hemorrhoids and Rectal Prolapse? They are both a disease or condition of anus veins Hemorrhoids are basically varicose veins which are inside and sometimes protrude outside the rectum and anus. Some bleed, but this is rare. They can be irritated by prolonged sitting. um hemmorhoids are swollen blood vessels, Hemorrhoids are where the vein actually bubble out on the side and they are painful. I think a prolapse is where the rectum actually comes out of your anus. It's not about the veins.
