Rectal bleeding? cancer? |
i had some blood in my stool last week....so i went to my doctor this week... he um....put his finger up my butt to get a sample and test it.. he found blood in it.... its possible that these two items are related, but i wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. There are alot of things that can cause blood in your stool. Diverticulitis is one of the most common reasons. This is when you get out pouching of your colon and feces gets stuck in these out pouches then it later gets infected causing irritation and eventually bleeding. I'm sure that they are running labs on your blood to see if it comes up positive for cancer. Also you could have a bleeding ulcer in your stomach that may also cause blood in your stool, especially if you have been worrying alot about these nodules. As for the nodules themselves, these could just be calcification's, old TB or just benign nodules, just wait for the results before you get all worked up. Rectal bleeding could be hemorrhoids. What color was the blood? If it was bright red or brown, then it is probably hemorrhoids. If the blood was dark and tarry (and towards the tip of the finger) than it could be bleeding from up above in the tract. Blood in the stool could be caused by blood in your stomach (tearing in the lining of the stomach) or problems all the way down. Take a deep breath and try not to freak yourself out and just wait for the test results. dr would be more apt to tell you likely hood of the relavance of these two ailments. try not to worry , anything that is caught early has a very good chance Stick with the doc, he'll let you know -- there're a lot of things that could be out of whack. |
