I had a colonoscopy recently but would that be the same as a colon rectal cancer screen ?

they look for that too when they do a colonoscopy

Yes it is. It is the best test for screening cancer of the colon or rectum. It checks your rectum and rest of colon for any abnormal growths.

Sort of :0)
Your gastroenterologist will have been looking for evidence of ulcers, scarring or inflammation in your colon. If they suspect bowel cancer they will have taken some small biopsies that will be screened for the presence of cancer cells.

colonoscopy is the best diagnostic tool for colon cancer...
when some area in colon is suspicious the Dr takes a sample and biopsies it..tht is examined by a pathologist and he gives the report...this is the way it works and yes colorectal cancer screening is by colonoscopy
