Could i have colon cancer???

im only 14 years old but for almost a year i have had rectal bleeding and it is more painful each time i emptty could it be i didnt tell sooner cuz im scared my uncle died of colon cancer and it never ocured i could have cancer now im scared wat should i tell my mom shell be mad if i tell her its been a yeear is it ok if i say its been bleeding for only a week or so

tell your mom and get to the doctor right away. It could be something very simple. Your mother loves you, and even if she gets upset about you not telling her right away, she will understand your fears if you talk to her. My prayers are with you.

So, you've had rectal bleeding for a YEAR and haven't gone to the doctor? Go there. Now.

You absolutely have to get yourself checked out by a doctor. Nobody here (even if they were a doctor themselves) could give you an absolute yes or an absolute no. It needs further investigation.
If the blood is dark, then this is more worrying than if it is a bright colour, but get yourself to your GP this week.

Tell your mom right away. She may be upset that you didn't tell her sooner, but she does love you and cares for your well-being. The sooner you find out what is causing your bleeding the faster the doctor will be able to treat it.

Take care of yourself.

Well done for asking the question.

There are many things it could be such as piles, a slight fissure (crack) in the lining of the end of the colon which doesn't get the chance to heal up, it could be ulcerative colitis (esp. if you get slimy stuff coming out sometimes), or as you say there is a small chance that it may be colon cancer, but that would be a small chance.

It is very important that you tell your mother and also very important that you tell her how long it has been going on because the doctors will need to know this to help them make a proper diagnosis.

You have been very sensible coming on here to ask this question and I'm sure you do the sensible thing now and get yourself checked out.

Best wishes.

don wait.....................

tell your mom the truth and then go to the Dr and do the same you really need this checked NOW

Honey! That word Cancer makes all of scared, You aren't alone. Your mom is not going to mad but ,you need to tell her now & the truth. You need the help of an adult right now & there is none better then your mother. Most likely it is nothing that serious at your age but something is making you bleed. Trip to the doctor for a checkup. They will figure it all out, then you will not have to worry. If your reading this now. Stop & go tell her. If I was your mother I would want you to do that.

if you strain and push like a lot, you could develop hemroids which in turn bleed
