Can Raynaud's Disease get debilitating? |
I was diagnosed with Raynaud's Phenomenon (where blood circulation doesn't get to the extremities) - it begain with one finger, and now it's all on my left hand and some of my toes. I thought it would go away when the weather warmed up but it hasn't. Does anyone have it who can give me advice on how to control it? (besides wearing gloves all the time) I have Raynaud's as well, it mainly affects my feet and sometimes my hands and occurs when I'm stressed or upset, as well as when it's cold. If it's becoming a big problem for you, or is causing you a lot of pain, you can be prescribed nifedipine by your doctor which helps to open up the small peripheral vessels allowing blood to reach your fingers and toes. Otherwise, you just have to put up with it, there's not really much that you can do for it other than keeping your fingers and toes warm. I was also diagnosed with Raynard's last march I'm 23 years old I do feel that something can be done .Blow my mind that nothing can .I read on -line that vitamin B-3 suppose to help your blood flow .I now take Vision for life vitamin and mineral supplement it seems to help . Report It A member of my family has had it for years with no ill effects other than the glove thing try these websites. I have it too. And its mostly just one toe lol, but sometimes my finger tips and the rest of my toes do. Its very scary sometimes. I've reacted for up to an hour! I first got it when I was 11 in the middle of July and I freaked and now I get it whenever and I'm 14. It occured at least once a week last year and the year before, but now its not so bad. As for cures or to help stop reactions I have no clue. I just try not to think about it and sometimes that helps, but more mentally than physically. |
