It started with a purple spot on one toe, and then tingling, pain cramping in my arms and legs. Then my leg swelled up but it was not a blood clot. Now the opposite hand and arm are swelling. I have been given two prescriptions to help my circulation but when I spent the afternoon in the cold weather...I felt pain around my organs and it took days for me to feel almost normal again. I have looked up Raynaud's disease, which is what my doctor thinks it is... it just says there can be underlying causes of it and I wondered if anyone else has this and if they have the additional problems and underlying diseases. Aside from staying inside all winter...is there anything else I can do? I dont have problems with my blood pressure, but I was given the medication for it because it is supposed to help open my vessels. I was also given a heart medication to do the same thing. I was tested for lupus, but is it true 20% of cases have a false negative? When I have looked on line, the only lupus symptom I do NOT have is the butterfly rash. do you have high blood pressure? Lupus? Rhuematiod arthritis? The only thing I can think of is to apply heat. Don't smoke, smoking is a vasoconstrictor. Just continue your medication your dr. prescribed. if you are having pain you may ask for pain med that won't aggrevate your condition. Try to overprotect your body and arm and legs from the cold weather and I hope your situation resolves soon. Good luck |
