Is it possible to be able to walk after being paralyzed or cure a rare genetic disease using your mind alone?

SCI treatment, rare disease, the mind, severed spinal cord, childhood disease, recovery

Maybe, if you use your mind to advance the science and technology needed to cure those conditions.

I believe in positve thinking, "good luck"

Absolutely not. You cannot "will" yourself to heal. Having a positive outlook, however, can aid in the healing process through a variety of mechanisms. It is usually the fact that positive people don't give up as easily.

Some people claim it is. I like to keep my mind open and to believe in miracles.

Mind-power is an awesome thing. I believe it can heal, but I don't think there is any proof of it. Science and medicine can cure also. So I think the two factors combined are peoples' best chance for success.

Sometimes the body heals in unexpected ways. I read of a woman who had cancer covering a large portion of her lower face and she was preparing to die. One morning she went to wash her face - and the entire cancer fell off her face! Left fresh pinkish normal skin underneath. It was a case of "spontaneous remission" and scientists do not understand how it happens. It is very rare.

The power of positive thinking can have tremendous effects in some cases but by itself, it isn't the answer to every condition and in every case. I believe when it's part of an overall approach, the chances of success are greatly enhanced and it's something I encourage in my patients.
