Discrimanation/Rape?

Ok i will try to make this short and sweet. I was in the hospital for being raped but the er refused to do a rape kit because I had been off of my psych meds for three weeks and then they said my urine came back positive for methanphetamines (which I have never used). They never did another test to confirm that it was there and to top things off the urine was still sitting in my room on the counter (so how could they have sent it off to the lab). Anyway because they felt I was under the influence of drugs and that I was "crazy" they refused to exam and treat me for rape, instead they made me sign myself into the hospital. Now my rapist is free and has already raped another woman, what do i do. Is there anything I can do or should i sit back and stay quiet and hope he doesnt come after me again.

Sorry the rape happened in November, the only reason i am asking this question now is because i requested my medical records and saw the comments they made about me being unreliable due to being off of my medications and "being high on meth", yet I as calm and soft spoken. I am sorry but i dont know any calm soft spoken individuals when high or coming down from being high on meth.

agree with the top person call the police from your room and file a report..if its too late to collect evidence from a rape kit (you didnt say how long ago this has been or if you've had a shower) then there is still the report..if you still have the clothes with you that you were attacked in that will be very helpful there may be evidence on them..if the hospital if still refusing to do a test after you talk to the "big kahuna" go to a differant hospital oh and try treatening the hospital with media attention im sure they wouldn't want it to get out that they refuse to treat rape victims...and make sure to get yourself into counseling as soon as possible for the mental side effects of rape can last a long time..best of luck

Did you file a report with the police?
If so do it again - the hospital should not have done that- talk with the hospital administrator about what happened.
If you do nothing he is just going to keep at it -

I am really sorry that happened to you!!
You need to go somewhere else,like another ER or a Planned Parenthhod or a Family Planning to be treated for preventive infection and to get the morning after pill, to prevent pregnancy.
Also,did you file a police report? Is there a battered women's place in your area that would advocate for you?
As far as the psych meds and drug test go, you still deserve treatment for the rape -that is discrimination (the + meth could be a false positive)

Try and do a web search for rape crisis in your area-(this is in my area,www.independencehouse.com in Mass.)

Rape is rape no matter if you were off your meds on drugs or drugged. The medical person treating you is their to tend to you medical needs, not your moral or legal needs. If you have not washed or destroyed you cloths place them in a plastic bag as DNA evidence. Return to the hospital and demand to make a police report , seek counseling and STD testing ect as you should of in the first place

If this happened to you you need to file the report with the police station and sue the hospital for negligence and malpractice. Get yourself an attorney that does malpractice suits kiddo.

don't stop keep doing what you have to do to get tha sob behind bars talk to the other victim go to a lawyer find an organization someone will listen Remember you are a victim and you deserve all the help you can get. whatever you do don't stay quiet if anything do the contrary with help and protection from friends and love ones heck if you have a picture of the sob make a flier and post it all over town warning others to be careful of the loose rapist in your town of couse anonymously

im so sorry 4 ur pain! i dont no what 2 say 2 make ur situation any better! i feel so bad 4 u! take it 2 the police! please talk 2 someone! this may haunt u 4 the rest of ur life! ive been raped myself, 16yrs ago and remrmber like it was yesterday! please seek help!

go to the police, dont let them give you any crap. this is a serious thing, and the fact that you are strong enough to come forward means a lot. it is situations EXACTLY like this one that make other women hesitant and even afraid to come forward for rape.

DONT LET THEM DO THIS TO YOU, AND LET EVEN MORE WOMEN BECOME VITCIMS.
