Why would someone ever rape another person?

I wouldn't think that rape-ing a person would give you the same affect as having sex with you wife, girlfriend, etc. And woudn't it be embarrasing for the rapiest? Think about it... they are naked infront of someone that they most likly don't really know and they person is trying to get away. What if they have an STD? What if the person that got raped presses charges? Then the rapiest would have to go to court, etc. and their parents would find out! I mean why would they do it? And in my Seventeen magazine this boy's mom raped all his friends! Why? She could get pregnant, etc. Why would someone ever do it!? I just don't get it.

Its not about sexual gratification, its about control. Rapists are sick in the head and sexually dominating another person makes them feel better about themselves. Rapists don't consider the conciquences as far as getting an STD and couldnt care less if they are spreading one. They feel that they are in control of the situation and will not get caught so pressing charges usually isn't foremost in their mind.

There are thoes who will rape kindof on a spurr of the moment, like when a boyfriend rapes a girlfriend. Its generally not malicious, but its not excusable either. No means no in any instance! Every rape has it's own story and every rapist has their own reason. But no reason is ever good enough to violate someone like that!

As far as the mom in 17 magazine, thats a little different issue! I think I know what article you are talking about and in that case, I believe she thought she was "being a cool mom" Im not sure how she thought that was cool...I've been dubbed "The coolest step mom ever" by my kids friends and I don't have sex with them!!! In this situation, even though both parties are concentual it is still considered rape because she was an adult having sex with someone underaged. In her case it was simply stupidity! Yes she did put herself at risk for pregnancy! She might have had some sort of mental issues that made her think that was ok, but people like that are usually just stupid!

These people are sick in the head. They don't rationalize in their head those things you are saying about STD's, pregnancy, etc. They are sick and the thoughts of danger, etc. don't cross their mind while they are raping someone. These people are mental and need to have their genitals cut off and or cut out (depending on sex) so they can't do it again. I think they should be degraded and hurt like the people they hurt. Bottom line, they're sickos!!!

well there are people out there that can't get a date and have to take because they don't have any money either and there's people that think that people should be raped for what ever reason and some people are just into violent sex so basically it's a mental illness.and i think that they al need to be put on an island so they can rape each other.

well some people are just sick like that to rape a person and they are also crazy and something did not go right in their life real and healthy people healthy in the mind do not do any thing crazy to that point now everyone has problems but not like that

because it makes them feel big, and strong. they don't stop to think about what they are doing. although i have to disagree with some of the people above. some men do rape for passion. My friend got raped and her bf actually just wanted sex with her but when she said no, he wanted it for pleasure. some other men do just rape because it's a mental thing and they need to feel the power, but it can be different. i agree when u say it would be embarrassing for them, but most guys either don't think about it, or they don't care.

UNFORTUNETLY HONEY, IT IS A MIND THING. THE WAY I UNDERSTAND IT IS THE RAPIST GETS A HIGH FROM THE CONTROL FACTOR AND FORCING SOMEONE TO DO SOMETHING THEY DON'T WANT TO DO. IT MAKES THEM FEEL GOOD! EMOTIONALLY! SAD THING! RAPISTS HAVE MENTAL ISSUES, THESE ARE NOT WELL INDIVIDUALS AND THEY NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP.
SOME CASES AS THE GAL SAID ABOVE IT COULD BE MUTUAL, BUT IF ONE IS A MINOR IT IS CONSIDERED RAPE. ALSO, RAPE CAN OCCUR BETWEEN A MARRIED COUPLE. RAPE IS DEFINED AS A PERSON FORCED TO HAVE ANY TYPE OF SEX, WITHOUT CONSENT.
