How is a child that results from rape any less of a life?? |
Im trying to get my head around some things people say on here. Im not saying this is my opinion just trying to understand. I repeat because I know some will miss the point. Put yourself in the mother's position. Would you want a baby that has half the genes as the man who raped you? He or she isn't! It is not the baby's fault that a terrible atrocity occurred to its mother. The rapist should be punished, not the baby! I agree with you completely. it definitely doesn't make it 'less of a life'. there's just going to be a lot more stuggles the parent and child has to go through growing up. its not just a matter of rape or not...you have to think about what they are going to go through in life. I think people who are against abortion except in the case of rape feel like the woman didn't have the choice to engage in the act of creating the child so she should be allowed to abort it. But, people who think like this really shouldn't push the "pro-life" stance. As you said, even if the baby is the product of rape, it's still a living thing that you would be killing. Its not less of a life but theres a difference between willingly opening your legs for pleasure and getting raped by a stranger or whomever, In getting raped one did not go in thinking "okay theres a risk of a baby but oh well I'll throw it out the window cause Im horny" ummm.. when you are raped and get pregnant it does change the prospective of you having a baby... but to take someones life because you got raped is not the way to go... in my opinion... I guess it's not about the child being "any less of a child" it's about what will make the people feel better, they feel they can justify that abortion but others they can't. Maybe the kid comes from a long line of rapists. The kid could grow up to be a rapist. I agree with you completely and people that are completely against abortion are morons. Every person's situation is different and NOONE can tell ANYONE how to live their life unless they are in the same situation. A life is a life. It wouldn't matter under what circumstances it was conceived in. It's possible that a person with that perspective is considering the negative genes that would pass to the child. there are few people out there, maybe our friends, our love. they are happy to live, full of live, but does it matters if their father is some rapist? not to me. how many of you KNOW for certain whether or not you're the product of a rape? |
