Do Radon detectors work?

Does anyone have one? Are they expensive and most importantly, do they work? I have been hearing a lot about Radon lately and was just curious.

*Radon is a gas that you cant see smell, etc... and is the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer. Also, the leading cause of lung cancer in non smokers.

Hi,
I do radon mitigation and have had many clients that use these homeowner affordable radon monitors. These devices give you a digital readout that keeps track of average levels, the levels update every 4 hours. When I do a radon reduction I retest with a short-term device from a lab and the results are always close to digital monitors that my customers are using.

These are $119 on the net but you can get a simple short term test that you send to lab for about $15.00. One good/fun thing about the digital monitors is you can run around and test all your family and friends places when your done with your house.
