Why is my stomach upset only in my house?

For the past month or so, my mother and I have had upset stomachs. I'm wondering if it's something in our house, because we went to Florida for two weeks and while we were down there, the symptoms went away completely. When we returned, so did our upset stomachs. We also notice a significant improvement when we leave the house at all. We have thought of possible causes, such as the water. I drank from my fridge and noticed mold accumulating around the spout. I switched to tap but have felt no improvement. I'm going to try bottled water next. We were told that CO or radon could be a possibility, but our CO detector never goes off (I just tested it) and we have two other people living with us who feel just fine. Could there be an allergen or toxin in our house that my mother and I are more sensitive to than my father and sister? I would appreciate an answer from someone who has some degree of medical credibility. Thank you.

Sounds like you are sensitive or allergic to something in the house. I would consider switching to all natural cleaning products to get rid of the toxic chemicals in your home and by all means switch to bottled water and be sure to use only bottled water when cooking too. Consider your bath products if there is something new that the two of you have recently started using. Why not buy a test kit for mold in your house too and see what that shows.

disinfect all your sideboards, surfaces, fridge and cooking pots and utensils. anywhere where food is stored, disinfect, like the insides of cupboards. it may be there is a particular germ or virus which has set foot in your house, so try to disinfect as much as you can, wash all clothes and sheeting, and aim to wash your hands at least once every 2 hours, and always before eating, until the problem clears up. if after 2 weeks there is no improvement, see your doctor.

there is also a possibility of toxic mould. this sort of mould can produce reactions in those sensitized to it, but not necessarily everyone in the house. check behind your fridge etc, and if in doubt, call in an expert asap, as toxic mould will become more and more dangerous to your health as your sensitivity to it grows, and can even require hospitalisation.

well,if yalls co detector is working,this could be because you and your mother are more prone to upest stamachs. watch what you eat for 48 hours.since you and your mother carry the same genes.that could mean you are allergic to some kind of food. also there culd be somthing that only your mother and you touched and your other family.

The two of you could be allergic to mold or dust or even calcium which is in tap water. You should go to an allergist to get tested.

Or...it could be stress if the family isn't getting along well. Only you can answer that one.
