Hodgkinsons disease- Radiotherapy?

Hi, I just found out that one of my friends has Hodgkinsons disease and is going for radiotherapy. Since it is radiotherapy and not chemotherapy does it means that it less severe? I don't don't much in this area so any information will be greatly appeciated. Thank You.

Seriously disregard that first answer. Chemo doesn't work all that well on Hodgkinsons. However radiation does. Like any treatment radiation can and does have side effects ranging from skin breakdown to difficulty swallowing and bleeding. Most people have very few problems. Try these links.

Radiation doesn't hurt, it's just like a long x-ray. But it does build up. I had a terrible sore throat during mine. I also had shingles. But it wasn't as bad as chemo.
Best wishes
