Hormonal injections Zolodex, taken before, and during radiotherapy for protate cancer? |
I had the hormone treatment for a period of 9 months, prior and during radiotherapy. To anyone who has undergone this treatment, how long, on average is it before libido returns following cessation of hormone treatment. As an alternative have you found any medications useful ?. Unfortunately, the libido may return but the ability to act on it may not. You will be lucky if you can get an erection after Radiotherapy and Zolodex hormone treatment, if you do manage one it will be very feeble, and you won't be able to ejaculate although you can have an orgasm, usually much less intense. Some doctors prescribe Viagra to assist in getting an erection. You may get the desires but be unable to act on them. It's not the end of the world, worry more about the success of the treatment for the cancer.Remember Zolodex is a female hormone treatment and you can develop female characteristics ie breast tissue or thickening of the waistline etc.- my husband was on that, for prostrate cancer, same thing happened. it may never come back... his did not. he did try viagra, and it did help.. good luck. zoladex alone causes havoc with your sex life. Talk to your doctor viagra can help |
