After my radiotherapy for overian cancer operation ihave started lot of gas formation in my stomach although i

having lot of gas promblem and on pantoprazole 10 mg tablets but to no effect.please help me.I am 72 year old and have under gone gallblader operation also

Gas formation may be due gallbladder removal. Reduce or avoid fat, oils, raw fruits and vegetables in the diet. The bile ducts will gradually take over the duties of gallbladder. This may take three to four months before it works smoothly, and during this interval the patient may suffer from mild indigestion or pains caused by spasm of the common bile duct. Minor symptoms may persist in some 5 to 10% of patients whose gallbladders have been removed.
Certain foods and lifestyle are considered to promote gastroesophageal reflux:
Coffee, alcohol, and excessive amounts of Vitamin C supplements are stimulants of gastric acid secretion. Taking these before bedtime especially can promote evening reflux. Calcium containing antacids are in this group[3].
Foods high in fats and smoking reduce lower esophageal sphincter competence, so avoiding these tends to help, as well. Fat also delays emptying of the stomach.
Having more but smaller meals also reduces the risk of GERD, as it means there is less food in the stomach at any one time.
avoid eating for 2 hours before bedtime
avoid soft drinks
avoid chocolate and peppermint
avoid spicy foods
avoid acidic foods like oranges and tomatoes (however, they are okay when fresh.)
avoid cruciferous vegetables: onions, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, brussel sprouts
milk and milk-based products contain calcium and fat, so should be avoided before bedtime
Consult your Gastroenterologist.

Otherwise, it may be due to Chemotherapy. Because some chemotherapy targets fast-growing, or fast-dividing cells, it is more likely to harm similar cells in the body. Other fast-dividing cells can be found in the stomach and bowel lining, which leads to nausea and diarrhoea.
There are, however, drugs which help control this, and timing meals to avoid having a full stomach when the drugs take effect can also help in some cases.
