Whats the difference between radiotherapy and chemotherapy? |
Whats the difference between radiotherapy and chemotherapy? radio therapy is usuing radiation to kill off the cancerous tumor. Radiotherapy uses radiation to try to kill the cancerous cells. It is not an invasive procedure. Radiotherapy is sometimes used to make a tumor smaller. Radiotherapy : when we will use the radiation (some elements like the uranum and other radiating elements) in treating the tuamar(canser). The biggest difference is that radiotherapy can treat localized tumors or just one area very well. It is not as effective for metastatic cancer because it covers too wide an area. Radiation is used if you have low stage cancer, and chemotherapy is used if it is more advanced. Sometimes with advanced cancer they will use both types of treatment. |
