Radiography placement?


im trying to think of an interesting thing to do on my 4 wk elective placement next yr. i want to do somethin completely different but dont no wat! i was thinking of forensic but when we had to scan a dead patient the other wk i thought it was quite disturbing so dont think ill do that now?? i was also thinking of airport radiography but would that be boring??

I think you should try Paediatrics. There's nothing more satisfying than attaining a good image from a difficult child. You have much more to think of than with adults who can cooperate with you. You first have to win the child's trust. A child is always a challenge as you never know how they will react so you have to be more on the ball. Try from neonates to sixteen year olds that covers most. There's a big difference from a neonates exposure to a sixteen year old. Then you have to think of lead protection for them all that's a technique in itself, choosing the correct size and the careful placement so it doesn't cover anything essential up.
