I am currently doing radiation therapy for breast cancer. What kind of deodorant can I use? I would ask your doctor or one of his staff. do not use deodrant. This will cause a bolus effect. Bolus effect causes lots of skin reaction and your skin will burn. Report It That is a question you should really ask your onocologist. don't use a deodorant IF i were u , i would use my hands 4 that kind of work LOL!!!! Anything that is truly unscented. I reccomend smelling it before you buy it so you know for a fact that there is NO scent. Go to Vitamin World. They sell a deoderant that is the natural stone. It is endorsed by the Cancer Society. They have the stone, roll on and spray. All safe for you to use. Depends on the size Only Cornstarch or the "Stone" that the other person talked about. Hang in there ! You will get through this ! I agree, some of the answers to your legitimate question are uncalled for and cruel. The reason they say no deodorant is because they usually contain aluminum that can mess more with the radiation treatment. You don't need more burns than necessary. Cornstarch or a natural stone you can get at whole foods or a vitamin store. I just use DEODORANT, not antiperspriant, just DEODORANT... It depends on the location of the radiotherapy. I had radition to my breast and axillary area to kill any cancer that might had been in my lypmh nodes. They told me not to use any deodorant so I didn't. If you are getting your axillary area treated then you shouldn't use any deodorant on that side. I used Kiss My Face brand during my radiation, but not immediately before a treatment. Good luck. Be well. |
