What do those who have a career in Radiation Therapy do? What does this job consist of? Usually they are specially trained to use radiation machines of all kinds. Radiation is used to treat cancer. It is used to target certain tissue such as cancer or tumors in the body and the radiation kills the cancer cells. It also kills some healthy cells too. This usually causes the patient to become sick. So, what radiation therapy technicians do is very varied since diseases are all different. You must be good in math, have medical terminology and much training to use the machines and calibrate them for each patient and their problem and area of disease.
