What would symtoms be from long and short term exposure to radiation fallout?

What would symtoms be from long and short term exposure to radiation fallout?

It depends on the radioactive element in the bomb, the amount of exposure and where exposed.

Certain elements aremuch more poisonous to the body than others. Plutonium is one of the worst, and if you inhale it, I am told it will lead to a certain death. If skin exposure can be washed off quickly, survival is more likely.

Generally, a high doses short term exposure will lead to skin burns, hair loss, nausea, fatigue and hemmoraging internally. Death will follow.

Low dosesmay prolong illness or death by cancers, esp thyroid and leukemia.
