Does anyone have an idea how long it takes cervical cancer to show up after exposure to hpv??? |
I'm asking because I have been with the same partner for 32yrs, and it seems that if I was the source it most certainly would have shown up long before now. I have NOT been with anyone else so I didn't get anything elsewhere. Also can cervical cancer come from other than hpv?? If so please give examples. Wife recently had surgery and the follow up radiation therapy and I'm kind of curious as to what got this ball rolling in the first place. I am not sure if it is caused by anything other than hpv. I do know that my sister was diagnosed with cervical cancer earlier this year and she had not been in a sexual relationship for over 13 years. Hope this helps, Angel u know there is no definite time frame on the exposure. my sister had intercourse with her husband for 9 years and after they got divorced a year later, she was diagnosed having hpv (after which she had 3 other sexual relationships) and having abnormal cells one year after she left him. Almost every person who has had sex has been exposed to HPV. Seriously, like 99% of sexually active people have been exposed to it. As for times when it turns into this or that one can never tell. Everyone is different. I am sorry to hear about your situation and I hope this issue is resolved in the most ideal manner for your family. I was diagnosed with HPV 14 years ago. Had some procedures done on the cervix to remove 'precancerous cells", and have not had any problems since. My pap tests have been normal for 14 years. So i would say there is not set time frame for the onset of the cancer. |
