Which of the following cancers is thought to result in the most deaths per million people for every Sievert of exposure associated with medical imaging radiation? First of all 1 Sievert is a huge exposure whether you are talking chronic or acute! For those of you that only know American measurements 1 Svt = 100REM. I am guessing here but I think that it would be the lungs. My reasoning : x-rays dump thier energy linearly over thier time of flight. The lungs are a thick target and therefore would absorb more energy per photon. skin |
