Rabies Question. Please help.?

My cat was due for his annual rabies shot in February. Well, he's acting fine, but scratched me this morning. How likely is it to contract rabies if he's 3 months behind on getting his shot?

If your cat does not have rabies, then you won't be at risk of getting it. Watch your cat closely for a few days, and if he doesn't show any signs of having the disease, everything is OK.

If your cat has had previous vaccinations, he is probably still protected from getting rabies for three years.

By law, most states require a yearly rabies vaccination - even though studies have shown that many of the rabies vaccines we use give us three years of protection.

It is very unlikey. Cases of rabies contracted from domestic animals is minimal.
Most cases come from wild squirrels, and skunks.
I would just watch your cat for any signs of illness and but some neosporin on the scratch.

most rabies vacc are good for 3 years but most vets suggest 1 yr. rabies must be transported though body fluids , saliva, blood and so on you should be just fine.

Not at all likely. There is cat scratch fever, though.
