Rabies Question. Please help.? |
My cat was due for his annual rabies shot in February. Well, he's acting fine, but scratched me this morning. How likely is it to contract rabies if he's 3 months behind on getting his shot? If your cat does not have rabies, then you won't be at risk of getting it. Watch your cat closely for a few days, and if he doesn't show any signs of having the disease, everything is OK. It is very unlikey. Cases of rabies contracted from domestic animals is minimal. most rabies vacc are good for 3 years but most vets suggest 1 yr. rabies must be transported though body fluids , saliva, blood and so on you should be just fine. Not at all likely. There is cat scratch fever, though. |
