Should I get a rabies shot? |
The other night while I was walking home from my aunt's house, her neighbor's cat followed us home. We've seen the cat around many times and it's friendly. I was petting it (which was stupid), and once, it nibbled on my finger. Not really a bite, since it didn't bleed or puncture the skin or anything. Later on that night, I accidentally chewed on that particular finger absentmindedly (weird habit, I know), and when I realized what I did that's when I started to get nervous about rabies. You are probably fine, but you know what they say, something like 'when in doubt, get it checked out' which is a variation of 'when in doubt, throw it out' pertaining to being unsure about spoiled food. Perhaps the owner would also be able to find in his or her records the exact date of when the cat was last vaccinated. And how about calling your doctor since you are worried. If the cat is up to date, you have nothing to worry about. In fact you skin was not broken so there is no transfer of cat fluids to your fluids. To put you mind at ease you can ask the owner for the proof of rabies vaccination. Relax you will live to be 140. lmao ..your paranoid ..when you start having bouts of dry mouth then worry ...i'm not talking about be thirsty , im talking about foamy and spit bubbles ...if the cat pirced the skin in a bloody rage then i would be worried ..sound like you are a germaphob..actual it is a good habit to get into noowadays with all the virus and bacetal crap flaoting arount ...i suggest carry some hand sanitizer |
