Rabies!!! I got bitten by a puppy...? |
I got bitten by a pet puppy on my nose (now i know thats more dangerous please dont point it out) about 10 days ago and got my vaccines 6 days after the bite. If within 10-14 days the dog didn't show any signs of having rabies does that mean i can relax? The puppy was almost never outdoors before the incident... gee thanks, its been 10 days and the puppy's been playful as ever, no signs of agressiveness or excessive salivation... i on the other hand am wondering if im gettin a headache maybe because of stressing too much about it. 10 days is generally the cutoff. You can relax. It doesn't sound like you or the puppy has rabies, but from what I've experienced that poor puppy is probably going to be put down anyway. That's the way it seems to work whether an animal has been vaccinated or not. Is the animal afraid of water, was there any foam frothing from his mouth, or better yet are you experiencing any of these symptoms? If not do not worry about it. What makes you think the puppy had rabies? And what doctor would give you vaccine without testing said puppy for rabies. |
