Rabies shot question!!!?

what part of your body do you recieve the rabies shot, and how many do you recieve? somee people have told me its 7 shots on the stomach, someone else said its a series of shots thru a 28 day period where you get them on your arms, or is it just one shot?

It used to be in the stomach, and very painful but that is not the case any more. Legend still exists, as always.

The shots are usually given in the arm, although in case of serious bites, the first one is sometimes injected at the site of the injury.

How many you get depends on if you actually been exposed. I do rabies testing at my work, so I got three shots over 28 days. If there was ever a lab accident that caused an exposure, I would get two more as a booster.

If you have been exposed, the sooner you start the shots the better!

The dose of HRIG depends upon the weight of the person, and is generally infiltrated by needle and syringe at the site of the bite. These persons also receive five intramuscular doses of vaccine over the next 28 days. Persons who are exposed to a rabid animal but have been previously vaccinated require only two booster doses of vaccine three days apart. hope i helped:)

I have always been told seven shots in the stomach area.

my uncle had to have them after being bitten by a snake..I don't remember how many shots..but it was in the stomach....that was several years ago..maybe the treatment has changed.....
