RABIES Help!!!? |
my hamster bit me 1 month ago I DONT KNOW IF I GOT RABIES.....IT BIT ME AGAIN TODAY....WHAT SHOULD I DO??!?!?1 If your hamster had rabies, it would most likely be foaming at the mouth. It would also be very difficult for an average pet hamster to get rabies. If it did have rabies and you were bitten a month ago, you would already be showing symtpoms. I think you are in the clear. Hamster bites hurt...A LOT and sometimes for a couple days. Just make sure you let it bleed into the sink and wash it out with warm water and soap. Keep it clean, an infected bite hurts even more. i used to have tons of hampsters and they always bit me but i dont have rabies, lol but if you are really worried, then i would just take your hampster to the vet, and have it checked out, they will be able to tell if your hampster has rabies or not. and if it does, then you would have to go get a rabies shot. normally home animals do not have rabies, i think you would know if it did. it would actually be acting funny. If a cat or dog gets rabies they show signs in a week. Now if a hamspter had it i really think it would kill it before it even had a chance to react to it. A human can go months before having symptoms though. Did you see on Yahoo news a week or so ago a young girl died from rabies when she got bit by a bat in august? Its very very rare though so i wouldnt get worried about it. |
