Rabies Vaccine?

Hi,

Three days back i was petting my cat and while doing so i accidently touch its mouth and she put her front paws on my hand a few scratches with very less blood, that cat is born in my home I,ve seen her grow but its not actually my pet, she usually comes by and we give her food, even that day i know she was just playing and no sign of anger in her, but since she was not vacinated i asked my doc (just medical spe) and he said u must do the verorab five injections course, as rabies virus can live in body for many years, so better safe than sorry, so scared by this i purchased all five injections of verorab, although they are expensive ones here, had my first shot 3 days back, also had a anti-tatnus shot, last two days i felt a bit dizzy, i checked manual of verorab and found out that it was one of the side effects, so thought it was fine,
I am also taking Seritide Evohalor, on following link i found out that one should b careful if using a substance which is in Seritide..

P.S I cannot talk to my allergy doctor who prescribed me Seritide Evohalor for Asthama he is out of country, my cat also looks fine, please check the specification of Seritide Evohalor here and the yahoo article which mentioned that the following drugs will effect rabies vaccine. 鈥渁n inhaled or nasal steroid such fluticasone (Flovent, Flonase)鈥?br>

Just wanted to ask should I go for my second verorab injection ?

Any expert opinion please.

Thanks

I took these shots this past summert after a cat bite myself.

It does not sound like you should have to take these shots based on the information provided. When there is exposure to an animal in question thru bites or scratches, the animal is usually watched for a period of ten days to rule out rabies. If the ten day period has passed and the cat shows no signs then you most likely do not need these very expensive shots. Heres an article I wrote about my experience. It may help with some of the info provided there.

I am sure no need to get have a second dose.......unless you are sure the animal is rabid....get a second opinion
