Will I have rabies? |
A kitten accidentally (as I see it) bit me while i was feeding her. No blood came out of my middle finger, the area I was bitten. I immediately washed my finger and put alchohol on it. Though my father told me that I don't have rabies, I am still not sure. Will I have rabies? How will I know if a kitten has rabies? probably. depends if the kitten had rabies..and did the bite even penetrate your skin? The skin must be broken to contract rabies. You're okay. Kittens aren't too like to have it anyway. prob not, a kitten would quickly die if infected with rabies. Rabies is a viral encephalitis transmitted by the saliva of infected bats and certain infected mammals. Symptoms include depression and fever, followed by agitation, excessive salivation, and hydrophobia. Diagnosis is by serologic tests or biopsy. Vaccination is indicated for people at high risk of exposure. Postexposure prophylaxis involves wound care and passive and active immunoprophylaxis. The disorder is almost universally fatal. Treatment is supportive. |
