Persistent fever and what to do.?

Yeah, I know that yahoo is no Dr. Office, but before I spend eleventy billion dollars to have a Dr. throw some medicine at me and tell me to have a nice day, I figured I'd see if I could get an opinion here.

Thursday night of last week, I found that I had a pretty persistent, nonproductive cough; In fact, I coughed so much that I slept on the couch for fear of keeping my baby awake. Friday, upon arriving at work, the cough would not go away. I coughed so much that I gave myself a migraine. It was absolutely horrific. I cannot begin to describe the pain. at any rate, no fever, and completely nonproductive cough at this point. Went to the urgent care clinic where they gave me vi-q-tuss (enough for three days), Azithromycin, and an albuterol inhaler

Friday night, I noticed that I was cold, but sweating...hot like wasabi, REAL hot. So I took my temp- 102. I forgot how much having a fever sucks. The medicine reduced my cough pretty good, but did not eliminate it completely.

so here I am, sunday morning, Chugging Orange juice, and still fighting the fever. the fever is responsive to ibuprofen, and will go from 102 down to 99.5 ish while the ibuprofen is working, the headache is still not gone, and now, when I cough my chest hurts- ALOT. I'm debating on going to the ER, I've not slept more than three hours since friday...I cannot continue like this. I'm worried that the coughing gave me an aneurysm or something...I know that sounds nuts, but what other reason could there be for a three day migraine with fever? ARRRGH!

Well fever and headaches pretty much go together. Cold compresses on your head will ease that, or just take a luke warm bath to cool off and the Ibuprophen.
You only been on meds for 4 days not enough time for it all to take effect. You must have some sort of infection for them to hand you antibiotics, they won't work on colds or flu.
Check your temp around noon time if your still high call the urgent care tell them where you went and what they gave you see if they have any other recommendations.

Please go to the doctor! It sounds like Bronchitis, or a lung infection (which can spread!)!

Your fever may reflect an infection you may have and can become deadly the higher the fever goes. Going to ER may seem like a hassle for a couple of hours but at least they will be able to keep an eye on it and help you get better.

A girl I work with was sick with a cough for about a month (note: we work at a hospital) and after she saw a dr., he ordered chest x-rays and found out she had pnemonia SO, its best to go take care of things right away when it comes to your health. The earlier the better.

A guy from my bf's job was sick like you for a while and when he finally decide to make an appt. the following monday, he passed away on Sunday from pnemonia. Sorry, not something you may want to hear but for your sake go see a MD.

Clinton is proud that the 9-11 pilots trained IN THE U.S. while Bill was in the white house.

Are you proud too?
