Persistent fever and what to do.? |
Yeah, I know that yahoo is no Dr. Office, but before I spend eleventy billion dollars to have a Dr. throw some medicine at me and tell me to have a nice day, I figured I'd see if I could get an opinion here. so here I am, sunday morning, Chugging Orange juice, and still fighting the fever. the fever is responsive to ibuprofen, and will go from 102 down to 99.5 ish while the ibuprofen is working, the headache is still not gone, and now, when I cough my chest hurts- ALOT. I'm debating on going to the ER, I've not slept more than three hours since friday...I cannot continue like this. I'm worried that the coughing gave me an aneurysm or something...I know that sounds nuts, but what other reason could there be for a three day migraine with fever? ARRRGH! Well fever and headaches pretty much go together. Cold compresses on your head will ease that, or just take a luke warm bath to cool off and the Ibuprophen. Please go to the doctor! It sounds like Bronchitis, or a lung infection (which can spread!)! Your fever may reflect an infection you may have and can become deadly the higher the fever goes. Going to ER may seem like a hassle for a couple of hours but at least they will be able to keep an eye on it and help you get better.
