Would fever kill the brain cells? |
...and lowering our I.Q. as a result? I know of a number of cases where children with extremely high temps, over 104 F have suffered brain damage following a prolonged elevated temp. It also can cause the child to have seizures for the rest of their life when they weren't known to have had a seizure disorder prior to the high temp. I know of several cases where the persons IQ was stunted, for lack of a better term, following the incident. highly doubt it would kill brain cells since fever is just telling u tha ur body is trying to fight off sickness as of now, there isn't any real clear documentation (research) of a fever causeing death to brain cells; even more so, there isn't any documentation of a patient will develope seizures or epilepsy from febrile seizures. A such event was not caused by the fever but by an organic event. |
