Does broad-spectrum antibiotics cause a kidney infection?

I have a class, Human A&P II and have to answer case study questions, and I can't find this anywhere! I NEED HELP PLEASE!!!
QUESTION: Eleven-year-old Harry is complaining of a severe sore throat and gets to stay home from school. His pediatrician prescribes a course of broad-spectrum antibiotics, and Harry feels much better within a few days. However, some two weeks later, Harry has a dull, bilateral pain in his lower back and his urine is a smoky brown color. On the basis of Harry鈥檚 signs and symptoms, diagnose his condition and indicate the relationship (if any) between his present condition and his earlier sore throat.

I know Harry's condition, Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) - Kidney Infection (Pyelonephritis). Would the BSA (Broad-Spectrum Antibiotics) cause this infection, when it's meant to cure this type of infection?

He probably doesn't have a UTI, more likely post infectious glomerulonephritis.

The antibiotics haven't caused the problem, it's an immune reaction set off by his streptococcal throat infection.
