What is the rush? Marshall? |
The rush as explained in my other questions is that I am having severe flank pain and symptomology of kidney issues. I have had 2 pregnancies before with moderate hydronephrosis and pyelonephritis and some kidney damage. I am having the same symptoms as before. I had a renal sonogram that show very little obstruction and the sonographer said my kidney was retaining urine and the tract looked enlarged. The doctors said I was fine. This time I have not been referred to a urologist as I have been 2 times before and the urologist found the obstruction via an MRI pyelogram. I have read that a pyelogram with urology protocol are much more reliable in finding antomical obstruction which is what I have had in the past and what I suspect is happening again. Because there was a delay in treatment I ended up with scarring. My doctors even a perinatologist suspects kidney problems but refuse to refer to a urologist, refuse to do a pyelogram (I know the risks during pregnancy) I am in pain!! I would go ahead and make an appointment with a urologist. It never hurts to be careful when you are pregnant. I'd contact a urologist on your own ASAP. Any retention of urine in the kidney is serious, and you need a urological workup especially since you are pregnant. If you happen to live in the St. Louis MO metro area I can refer you to a couple of good ones--have kidney problems myself. Don't fool around with this!! |
