Your opinion on something 33 years ago with misdiagnosis.?

I just was wondering, what would you have done in my shoes?

When I was born I was never diagnosed with a disease I had called pyelonephritis which led to me losing both my kidneys by the time I was 16 and having to go on dialysis to live or else I would die. This could have been prevented with minor surgery as a baby to fix a reflux problem and I was told I could have easily had my orginal kidneys still today 33 years later! But since it wasn't discovered for 9 years of me puking and being lethargic in Canada, a country where health care is covered so it wasn't a financial matter, there is no excuse! I should NOT be on dialysis today! So what would you have done? Would you have sued that doctor I had as a baby or did what my mom did and just cower when the doc yelled at you on the phone? Because my mom didn't go get a new doctor I am on dialysis today and very poor living off the system while I wait for a kidney transplant (have been waiting for 6 years this time around).

It is hard because now financially since losing the last kidney transplant I got (they don't last forever) I find I can't afford anything and finally found the love of my life. He is a motorcycle repairman and so that is not an all year around job so that means he has as little money as I do! it seems that I never got to have the opportunity to make a living or to have any money saved up incase of emergency since my whole life has been one big emergency. Sometimes it gets me down as how in the world will I ever be able to afford to get married???

It's a difficult question to answer about suing a Doctor. I'm sure you Mom was very overwhelmed with your condition and to have a Doctor yell at her when she did not know what was wrong to begin with.

I'm sorry that your going through so much physical and emotional stresses.

I don't have answers for you. However, maybe the National Kidney Foundation can assist you. Hope you will check it out.

Its really sympathetic But there is great hope.
As a child of God we depend wholly on God for survival. I urge you to go the Lord's sanctuary and report your condition to His healing mercy the master of all physicians.
