Once pulmonary fibrosis has manifested itself there are no cures. Usually it is caused by a lung disease that is chronic, but occassionally someone will develope pulmonary fibrosis without a history of lung disease. Sometimes the fibrotic section of the lung is removed to help the good part of the lung to work more efficiently and to slow down the process of fibrosis.
