Is there a relationship between hormonal pills and pulmonary embolism? |
Hormonal pills were prescribed and taken for weeks for perimenopausal bleeding caused by uterine myoma. Hysterectomy was done when the bleeding won't stop. Developed pulmonary embolism post-op. I agree with Nurse Tina... pulmonary embolisms usually occur after surgerical procedures. you really need to follow up with your physician, especially if you are still bleeding. I'm leaning more toward being post-op as the reason for the PE. If you're not wearing support hose or moving as much as before the surgery, then this is a good reason why that could have occured. |
