Bipolar or Psychotic Disorder Help Request, Any Good Ideas? |
I was hoping someone would have some suggest- I have been living with what I believe is a bi-polar disorder, mania or depression all the time, and its so strong I just want to run into a wall or something in hopes that knocking myself out would stop it. Also I have noticed that I think I have some type of a reverse anxiety disorder. Where I used to be very poised and calm, now I am flustered and enraged very easily. Although I catch myself and keep it within, I don't like it, I literally want to take the persons head off. Its quite a difficult situation to be in all the time and I just want it to stop and for my mind and emotions to be calm so that I can be productive at work and have a "normal" personal life. Can anyone suggest any diagnosis, or perhaps something that I can take to allieviate this all? One of my friends recommended somethign like Klonopin and an antipsychotic. Whatever has to be done is fine, I just have to do something. Thanks for reading! You have to go to a psychologist and tell them everything. They will be able to evaluate you and decide if you truly do have a disorder. If you do, they will put you on the correct medications. All the medicaations that you would need to take to help "control yourself" as you say, are all prescription only. Here's a link to a page about bipolar, just so you can check out your symptoms against it. Good luck. Go to the doctor or a psychiatric nurse practitioner and describe your symptoms. It does sound like bipolar disorder, so they will probably suggest a mood stabilizer, antipsychotic, anti-epileptic (for mood stabilization), or antidepressants and tranquilizers. It really depends on what you have already tried. I fully understand everything you are experiencing! I have Bi-Polar disorder and before I got treatment, I had all the problems you have described. It did take a while to find the right medications to control all the symptoms, but it was worth it. I actually have my life back. I am no longer that person that I did not even know anymore. What you need to do is see a Psychiatrist as soon as possible. He/She will decide what your diagnosis is and what medication or medications are right for you. If you can not get an appointment with a Psychiatrist soon, then take the appointment and see your family Dr in the meanwhile to get something to help with your symptoms. I know life seems pretty hopeless right now, but there is a way to get your life back and be yourself again. You just need to take that first step and make an appointment ASAP. There is no need for you to suffer any longer, see a Dr for help. |
