Is there a natural cure out there for weird behavior associated with a psychotic disorder?

Is there a natural cure out there for weird behavior associated with a psychotic disorder?

Personally i think someone who is psychotic would need to be refined to a secure unit in a psychiatric hospital, but it would depend on the severity of the disorder of course. nothing natural in my opinion would help right such a brain malfunction.
what made you ask this question? just curiosity?

Google best herbs for psychotic disorders
Health shops sell Kalms
If the trigger is migraine/headaches, the recommended herbs are feverfew, lavender, borage, marjoram & rosemary
Google herb teas & therapeutic massage demo
If it's 'feeling down', bingeing on sugary foods may give a quick high, but it's soon followed by a deep low, so instead, eat complex carbohydrates, like cereal bars, wholemeal (whole wheat) bread, muffins, scones, brown rice, wholemeal pasta - which are broken down slowly in the body & give a serotonin lift that lasts longer
Lean meat, poultry, eggs, soya beans & some other pulses, dried dates (not Nora Batty!), broccoli, low fat dairy foods, bananas & watercress also help
But not on da same plate, OK?

There are some who believe that psychotic and other mental disorders are caused by a severe nutritional deficiency. That would make sense, since many of our foods are adultrated and grown in soil with virtually no nutrients!! The cheapest way to overcome some mental problems, I think, is the raw food diet (not raw meat - I'm talking about raw fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, and herbs). To summarize the theory of this way of eating: A big problem is that our "standard diet" causes the body to be in a state of too much acidity, while the natural state of the body is to be alkaline - and the body will fight to the death to try to maintain homeostasis (alkalinity) even at the cost of mental health. I have found tremendous improvement in mental fog, confusion, and dyslexia (brain functions) by simply incorporating raw (uncooked/unpasteurized) "green smoothies" into my diet. What I do is try to eat or drink two bunches of dark leafy greens, which are very alkalizing, into my diet each day - and it can be mixed with raw (uncooked) fruits in the blender, to get rid of the nasty taste. Kale, spinach, and romaine are some good choices, mixed with banana, strawberries, and apples. I know the whole acid/alkaline thing sounds farfetched, but a lot of people are into this sort of lifestyle, and if one is willing to be patient, many mental problems can be improved greatly! I hope some of these websites can offer hope to you - I can tell you, while I've never had any major psychotic disorders, I know some people who have and have cured or improved their lives by learning to make their body more alkaline with dark leafy greens and fruit.

It would be helpful if you could explain what kind of "weird behaviour" you're talking about, and what kind of diagnosis. Many people use the term "psychotic" very loosely, really having no idea whatsoever what true psychotic behaviour looks like. If we're talking about a manic episode that comes with Bi-Polar Disorder or the delusions that come with schizophrenia, I say "NO!, There's no natural cure for this and please enlist the help of medical professionals immediately because with these two, you're dealing with emergencies." If we're talking about the tics associated with Tourette's or with OCD, there is research to show that behavioural therapy can assist to an extent with these. OCD and Tourette's are linked very closely with each other on the "tree" of mental disorders. I know a sufferer of OCD, who has been both vegetarian and vegan at different times in her life, and it has not helped much, if at all, in my opinion. In Chinese medicine, there is a strong linkage with excess spleen as well as liver/gall bladder disorders in many of these conditions. I have heard reports of folks suffering from mental disorders, especially depression, having cured themselves naturopathically and using supplements with the help of an orthomolecular doctor. I do find depression seems to be the easiest "mental disorder" to impact and perhaps even to go on to cure with natural methods, but if someone is in such a state that they are incoherent, psychotic, manic, completely emotionally out of control, acting out, I say hospitalilze them first, get them stablized, or as stable as they can be, and then go back and work on daily lifestyle changes and on using naturopathic methods. The issues with schizophrenia would seem to be the ones that are the most intractable and difficult to heal.

Mercury poisoning can cause psychotic disorders and psizcophrenia. The natural way to cure that would be to remove all silver fillings from your mouth by someone who is qualified to do it. www.iaomt.org

Then you would need to detox, the best way to do that would be by using Andrew Cutler's detox protocol. www.noamalgam.com
