Physical Therapy on knee or surgury? |
I'm going to have to go to physical therapy on my knee because I tore cartlige in my knee. Well the doctor told me that he wants me to try PT to see if my knee will improve and so that I won't have to get surgury. But he told me if its still bothering me im going to need surgury. I was wondering what kinds of things do you do in PT. Is it painful. DO you think the cartlige will heal or will I probably need surgury. do the PT... even if they wind up having to do surgery ur knee will be stronger and u will recovery from the surgery faster The long term effects of surgery are much greater than a round of PT as an attempt to avoid surgery. In PT they will work with you with exercises and movements to strengthen and help your knee to be stringer so it can effectively heal itself. This is definitley worth a try. Make sure you go to a sports injury physical therapy place. The pain from any exercises they make you do will be much less severe than the paid of having your knee cut open and messed with. |
